Our Story
In 1966, Barb and Ernie Wood opened The Donut Shop in Eagle Bay, New York, with one simple goal: to make the best fry cake donuts they could. They quickly discovered they had created something special. Before long, people were traveling from far distances, just to enjoy their famous plain and cinnamon sugar donuts.
In 2003, Dave and Pat Rowe purchased the business and proudly continued the tradition, serving the same beloved recipes that generations had come to know and love. Although the original shop closed in 2024, its story didn't end there…
The Original Eagle Bay Donuts was created to preserve this Adirondack tradition.
After acquiring the original recipe, we set out to bring these classic fry cake donuts back for both longtime fans and first-time visitors to enjoy.

That's why we're proud to serve coffee from our sister company, Fulton Chain Roasting Co., a small-batch roaster dedicated to exceptional quality.
Our small-batch coffee roaster features premium AA-grade single-origin coffees from Kenya, Rwanda, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Brazil, and Ethiopia. Smooth, flavorful, and available as whole bean or ground, our coffee ships anywhere in the U.S.
In addition to our fresh donuts and coffee, we're proud to carry Lane Legacy Beef—available exclusively here as the only retailer east of the Mississippi River.
